چکیده
The temperature dependence of static dielectric susceptibility of a strongly coupled dipolar system is calculated with self consistent mean fluctuation field approximation. Results are qualitatively in good agreement with, quantum paraelectric, SrTiO3 in the low temperature regime; and identify the system as a “gaped quantum paraelectric” near its quantum critical point. Quantum scaling along with possible experimental realization of a “quantum critical paraelectric” system through the application of hydrostatic pressure are also discussed.

M ay 2 00 7 Measure of the Julia Set of the Feigenbaum map with infinite criticality
We consider fixed points of the Feigenbaum (periodic-doubling) operator whose orders tend to infinity. It is known that the hyperbolic dimension of their Julia sets go to 2. We prove that the Lebesgue measure of these Julia sets tend to zero. An important part of the proof consists in applying martingale theory to a stochastic process with non-integrable increments.

The confining mechanisms of 't Hooft and Mandelstam have a simple microscopic realization in 3D Z 2 gauge theory: the center vortex and the magnetic monopole condensation are associated, in the set of configurations contributing to the confining phase, to the presence of two kinds of infinite clusters. These generate the area law of the large Wilson loops and the universal finite size effects p...

At Planck-scale, spacetime is " foamy " due to quantum fluctuations predicted by quantum gravity. Here we consider the possibility of using spacetime foam-induced phase incoherence of light from distant galaxies and gamma-ray bursters to probe Planck-scale physics. In particular, we examine the cumulative effects of spacetime fluctuations over a huge distance. Our analysis shows that they are f...

Quantum gravity as a unified theory coupled to quantized matter fields. Abstract In this paper we place some results of previous works together into a larger overall context. First we quantize the gravity-matter system in Ashtekar variables as a unified field, combining the Dirac, reduced phase space, geometric and path integration approaches, and construct the generalized Kodama state by expan...
